Our Story: From Distributed Computing Pioneers to Accounting Innovation
Unyt's founding team helped create Holochain and Holo hosting. While building Holochain, the peer-to-peer framework and infrastructure that powers our software, we realized decentralized organizations needed accounting systems designed for peer-to-peer operations, not permitted centralized tools.
Traditional accounting assumes centralized control: one database, one organization, centralized servers. But the future economy is decentralized: distributed teams, peer-to-peer networks, DeFIN projects, and community cooperatives trying to force-fit centralized tools into decentralized models.
So we founded Unyt Accounting to build infrastructure for this emerging economy. Our flagship product, Domino, combines deep distributed systems expertise with real-world accounting needs, proving that accounting can be both professionally reliable and truly decentralized.
